Family matters and ecoBumba

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about life balance and family and priorities in life.

Since starting Bean Sprout Bubba, things have been on the go-go-go. But I have realised that, in the end, my family is all that matters. Now that Bean Sprout Bubba is steadier and does not require long hours like during the initial start-up period, I have focussed more on spending more time with my growing girls.

In fact, I was planning to launch a new nappy product ecoBumba one-size pocket nappies in March 2010 to coincide with the Great Cloth Nappy Hunt (just over now), but family life got in the way. In a good way.

After coming back from Singapore, it took a very long time for me to get back into the routine of life back home. Travel weariness seemed to have caught up with me, and took about 2 weeks to recover from. Then there was nausea, and a little bleeding to add to the confusion. There was absolutely no sewing done for more than a month, I could cut fabric but could not sit down and sew without having a big headache. Towards the end of March, we finally confirmed what we had always been suspicious of: we’re having another baby!

In fact, by the time the scans were done, the first trimester was almost over.

So, yes. ecoBumba had to wait for another month for a very good reason indeed.

I’m busily sewing up a storm now of plain coloured ecoBumba one-size nappies for in stock nappies at an extremely affordable price, plus a few more patterned nappies if time permits. I have a few ecoBumba requests from friends in Bunbury to fill, photos to take, and then ecoBumba will launch in earnest. There’s a new website coming too. If you want to know when it all happens please subscribe to our newsletter.

In the meantime, do check out the photo albumss of fabrics I have on hand on the Bean Sprout Bubba Facebook page.
There is one for PUL fabrics that I have, and another one for minky.
I do have a few plain coloured minky choices too, I just need to take some photos and upload them for you.

  1. Oh I felt it all right, I was so tired and nauseous!
Just wasn’t sure due to some minor issues with early bleeding and such.
Now I’m feeling a little more energetic but still need lots of sleep! :)
