Bubba J modern cloth nappies are a range of washable, reusable nappies that saves money and saves the environment, without the hassle of traditional cloth nappying with folded square nappies.
The side-snapped closures on the hips of the pocket nappies and nappy covers fit to your baby’s legs and waist independently to ensure no leaks occur, while the fitted nappies are snapped in front for ease of use.
The following slideshow is an introduction to some of the nappy products available in the shop today (click on the picture to begin).
A bit of Bubba J History
The nappies are the brainchild of Kate Young, who named the range after her son Jack in 2004. Under the banner of Bubba J, she developed a range of pocket nappies, fitted nappies and covers to suit her baby. In those early days of modern cloth nappy innovation in Australia, Bubba J pocket nappies were made of print polyester PUL and microfleece, while her fitteds were made of cotton and super-absorbent hemp.
The popularity of Bubba J saw the nappies sold by online nappy retailers all over Australia.
Today, as modern cloth nappying evolves over the years, the emergence of exciting new materials has made these utilitarian baby items become a fluffy passion of many mums who love using reusable nappies. The Bubba J range continues in its innovations by embracing the use of such fabrics like minky, cuddlefleece, microsuede and bamboo in its nappies, with further design developments in the wings.
Through its years of existence, Bubba J has undergone some changes in ownership.
Since mid-2009, Bubba J is made and sold through Bean Sprout Bubba by Rebecca @ lotusutol from Bunbury, Western Australia.
Bean Sprout Bubba officially launches in August 2009 IRL at a local Art & Craft Market (in Bunbury), followed by the online launch of Bean Sprout Bubba/Bubba J soon after. In January 2010 a dedicated Bubba J webstie was born: visit it at http://bubbaj.com.au/
