New ecoBumba Stockist: Little Glamourettes Grand Opening

I’m pleased to announce that ecoBumba will be stocked in Little Glamourettes, an exquisite children’s boutique located in South Shore Piazza, South Perth.

Look for this sign on the street in South Perth!

Diana and Tracy, the owners of the boutique will be throwing a grand opening party on September 10 from 10am-2pm, and you’re invited to stop by the store for a visit. From what I’ve read it’s going to be quite a bash, with a children’s fashion show, face-painting, balloon sculpting and more.

An invitation for You! Click to see it larger.

Going by the photos on the Little Glamourettes Facebook page, the boutique will stock children’s clothing and items different to any other children’s boutique I’ve come across.

So come along on Saturday 10 September, have a look at what they have in stock, take advantage of the grand opening specials, and check out ecoBumba nappies in real life if you’re in Perth.
I intend to pop in too from Bunbury, see if you can spot me if you do attend.

Random stocking post

  1. Soapnuts have arrived! I am now stocking Nutcases – Organic and Fairtrade soap nuts supplied by Kussen. They are grown and harvested on a special soap nut tree and used for their natural saponin content (the same found in regular soap, but naturally occurring!)
They come in 4 pack sizes (50g sample, 250g, 500g and 1kg) and include 1-4 wash bags depending on the pack size chosen.
    1. I have been using these nutty smelling golden soap nuts and I feel they wash far better than the samples I received from another supplier years ago.
Pop 3-4 soap nuts into the included wash bag and throw the wash bag into the barrel of the washing machine and away you go.
These soap nuts last 3-4 warm washes in my front loader. You may get more washes if using a shorter wash cycle and/or using cold water, less in hot water and/or longer wash cycles.
    2. The soap nuts are a welcome natural addition to the laundry range at Bean Sprout Bubba, alongside the simply fabulous odour-busting Rockin Green Detergent.

  1. Itti bitti NEW Limited Edition Winter 2011 prints have arrived and how fabulous do they look!

They look so much nicer in real life and would suit parents who love to dress their babies up in bold colours.
I have very limited stock of all-in-ones, snap-in-ones and tuttos, so get them before they run out!
Not your cup of tea? I also stock solid coloured itti bitti nappies in the shop.
Previous Limited Edition prints are now reduced to clear: there are very limited quantities in limited sizes and prints left in the SIO (snap-In-One).

  2. Pikapu NEW V3 one-size all-in-one nappy has arrived, with a new colour Amber added to the line up.

    New Colour - Amber

Other colours in stock are red, charcoal, white and sage. These V3 nappies are thicker and more absorbent than the previous version, plus they have an additional column of rise snaps to secure the rise settings.

Little bubba's new nappies

One of the perks of selling nappies? I get to see, touch and use them on my babies when I think they need extras.

My little one is needing a few more nappies these days to boost the nappy stash as the weather gets wetter and colder for laundry this winter.

Top is the Baby Beehinds Multi-fit V2 in Limited edition prints (Monkey Mischief and Paw Print) and ecoBumba in Green Ooga Booga.

The new version of the Baby Beehinds Multi-fit is a trimmer version of the original Multi-fit V1. It is narrower through the crotch, and thus will suit from newborns 3.5kg upwards.

I really liked the fit of the V1 on babies with chubbier thighs who are well-built.
It’s a pity I don’t have a small baby anymore to try on the small setting of V2 for size!

The ecoBumba is a prototype of the new pocket opening design, yet to be tested. I need to streamline the process of making this nappy, so the new design will probably not be produced as yet until all the details have been nutted out. Which will be a juggling act at this point…

Anyhow, I have decided to continue producing ecoBumba nappies with the original opening at this stage. Which is good, because I have a pile of already-snapped nappy cuts waiting to be cleared off my sewing desk!

Getting there…

…slowly!

Sorry for the non-nappy-advice posts, it’s been drama after drama in the Bean Sprout Bubba household lately, but I won’t bore you with all the details.
All you need to know is that we are all safe, well and fine, even if the family has been down with some ailment or incident-requiring-lots-of -followup-phone-calls recently.

no one was hurt except the car... yup LOTS of phone calls

Bookkeeping has been a long trek this EOFY, no thanks to getting a bit behind after baby was born way back in October *breathe in, breathe out*

On another note, I have been able to connect with several mums on a DIY sewing group on Facebook, they have been a great source of creative inspiration, reigniting my passion to knit and sew for my babies (and yours too if you have been eyeing a Bubba J or ecoBumba nappy!). my sewing and knitting mojo went on walkabout around the time of the birth of Bubba #3, but these ladies have found it and returned it to me.

In between caring for the children, homeschooling and feeding the baby, I have managed to squeeze in a few knitted items for each of my children (photos up once the camera is charged).

Being the children of a mum who sews for sale, they often get the short end of the stick when it comes to getting handmade items from me. They truly appreciate the finished items, the look on her face when the dear child realises the item I’m working on is meant for her to wear makes it all worthwhile.

I have been snapping up some new ecoBumba nappies and sewing a small custom order that managed to squeeze into my already tight schedule.
I just need to manage the children to go down for their naps in the afternoon at the same time to work on them without  getting interrupted too much :)

The new pocket style for ecoBumba looked promising, but it was a little too fiddly.
Not sure if I should continue with the previous style, or move forward with this new style, or simply research an entirely new pocket!
I will test it out on my real life model later this week.

Anyhow I best get on with it, check out for more news in the mean time on Facebook.
