When life gets busy…

…post random photos to show proof of life!

A little nappy experiment: it works as expected!

Pikapu 3 pack nappy packs and night boosters. Four different packs available at Bean Sprout Bubba online store

It’s the start of the school term, getting back into the home-edding routine is trickier with a little attention-seeking 16-month-old boy to say the least.

I will be back with more posts in the next few days, plus a new nappy tips post. Don’t forget to comment under the ex-demo nappy blog post to be in the running to purchase a gorgeous ex-demo minky nappy at a greatly reduced price.

Getting back into 2012 – what others have bought

Yes, I’m officially back today!

Thank you so much for all your support during the recent Nappies Only Sale at Bean Sprout Bubba. and especially to those who have been sharing about the Nappies only sale to your friends. Quite a number took advantage of the holiday sale price to stock up on fluff.

In the lead up to today, I have been busy packing orders in batches and even managed to send off one batch of mail late last week.

Last Friday's mail run

Even so, this was the pile that I brought to the post office today.

Monday's pile of fluffy mail waiting to be rehomed

Yes, that is a lot of orders for 2 weeks, most of them made in the New Year!

I thought I’d show you a random selection of some of the orders included in Monday’s pile, all packed last Saturday afternoon. There were a few more orders I didn’t photograph, including orders across brands and styles of nappies, and accessories, all carefully chosen by each client especially for their baby.

Hmmm we better remember to close the pantry doors now. I can still remember my eldest at this stage 3-4 years ago, and now it’s his turn? Babies, they grow too fast… *sigh*

Oh well, all in a day’s work! :)

Peek into my sewing room

Today I thought I’d share one of my workspaces where ecoBumba and Bubba J nappies are created. I won’t call it a ‘studio’ just yet, it’s still a little messy and I’m still moving things around.

This is my sewing room.

It has undergone a major overhaul over the Christmas break, with my sewing machine now separated from my overlocker (now placed in another room), in order to fit in the fabric shelves. The fabric shelves used to be stored the spare room, which is now being turned into Little C’s Room.

Where I sew. Still getting the hang of the new environment. Fabrics galore on the right!

The white wall unit in the centre holds all my notions, scissors, patterns, WIPs, with the drawers full of wool and cotton yarn. The red shelving next to the sewing machine holds thread, needles, ribbon and other sewing notions.
The smaller white chest of drawers on the left holds my yarn notions (skein winder, ball winder) and miscellaneous items, besides being a shelf for rolls of minkee.

Walk around the corner behind the fabric shelf in the previous photo and this is what you will see.

Shelves of fabric

This is sitting right next to my sewing machine, very good for inspiring sew-jo.

All the bulk fabric is now in one spot for easy access, albeit a little crowded. There’s minkee in rolls, laminated minkee in rolls, microfleece, cuddlefleece, cotton interlock and more! Snaps are stored in those brown boxes on the floor. The smaller fabric fat quarters and shorter yardage are located in the front room/cutting workspace, which I will show you in another post.

One of my goals this year is to sew down 1 shelf (not the whole rack!) of material. It will probably take me 5 years or more to get through all this material purely in nappies.

I find I seldom share photos on my blog. I’m *so* not a show-off, but I do intend to share a bit more this year. Stay tuned for a giveaway next week.
