A couple of ecoBumba customs…

…and a Bubba J custom order too!
All happened to be ordered or completed at the height of our 10-day winter flu saga.

Sewing was therapy during that very trying ‘cabin-fever’ time.

Four little bundles of ecoBumba fluffiness one their way home to Woombye QLD

Which bundle would you love to take home?
Sometimes I’m very tempted to keep them all :)

We’re all feeling much better now, thanks for all your sickie and pamper-mummy tips and support on the Bean Sprout Bubba Facebook page.
I’m just now catching up with spring promo deadlines, the End of Financial Year paperwork and other necessary evils of running a fledgling business.

In case you were wondering, I’m happy to take simple custom orders for ecoBumba or Bubba J right up to around early August for mid-September delivery, to give me time to prepare for Little C’s arrival in early October (Baby #3).
The store will still be open for you to choose from the current range, and I will still be sewing but for in stock nappies.

In the mean time, stay as warm and as dry as possible, it’s been a rather cold winter this year.
I’ll be back with more pictures, nappy info, hints and tips, there’s so much to share, so little time!

:) Bec

Pile of nappy cuts to work on next week.

ecobumba nappy cuts, marked, labels sewn on, ready to be snapped.

Average production speed with 2 children in tow: about 4 nappies snapped and sewn per day in about 2 hours.

Slowly and steadily, let’s see this pile halved by the end of the week for an ecoBumba stocking end of May :)

So things didn’t exactly go to plan

…but I will still be at the markets!

Realistically I will only have lots of small cuddlefleece covers to sell at the markets this coming Saturday (at the Stirling Street Arts Centre from 9am to 2pm). With two small children underfoot I have grossly overestimated my abilities. I apologise in advance if you were wanting to buy some of the other products in the range.

I will still bring a sample of each product in my range just for you to have a feel.

So look out for my nappy stall at the markets!

Market Progress – in point form

Time has flown past, I can’t believe it will be market day in about a week! I love Bubba J and I hope others would love the nappies too. It not only fits my babies well, it is also quick to sew up and not a burden to make.

So far:
- cut out cuddlefleece outers to be made into small and medium fleece covers.
- (halfway) cut out microfleece inners to be made into small and medium fleece covers.
- figured out label & elastic placement on sewing test samples, looking really good so far.

Need to do:
- unpick old labels if using pre-cut fabric.
- cut out new fabric for pockets.

I am still waiting on some material to arrive for the pockets and fitteds. If they don’t arrive on time, I may have to launch at the market with lots of cuddlefleece & minky covers and pocket shells with limited inserts. No fitteds this market round unless I get the fabric tomorrow.

I will do my best to start posting more regularly into this blog, as the shop setup has paused: I need more content written up to continue. What better motivation to blog, ay? :)
