How do I minimise leaking?

Positive Negative

1. Ensure the nappy fits around the waist and thigh area, snug but not tight. If gaping occurs particularly around the thighs, leaks will probably happen.

2. For baby boys, ensure the little guy is pointing down into the nappy, and check for gaping around the tummy area :)

3. Make sure baby is changed regularly. I recommend about 2-3 hours between changes for hygiene reasons, but certainly 4-6 hourly changes can be done if the nappy has extra inserts/boosters while still maintaining no gaping around the waist and thighs.

4. Newborn babies need leakproofing against watery poo more than wee. Any nappy system that provides two elastic barriers at the waist and thighs are a great choice.
