I had a great day at the market at Bicentennial Square Bunbury on Australia Day yesterday. With the forecasted heat wave (41ºC!) and having to set up from 10-11am, I was a bit nervous in the lead up to the market.
While setting up (next door to the Tourist Information Centre), Dame Edna came by to assist me in promoting my stall…
On the table I had a few bags of Rockin Green Laundry Detergent, various wetbags on special, cloth wipes and packs of inserts.

The blue lacy throw was crocheted in the summer of 2006, and the crochet bowl for the wipes was made a couple of months ago.
ecoBumba nappies were pegged up like bunting, and more ecoBumba nappies were displayed on hangers, though next time I would also include the inserts on the hanger somehow.

There was the little table with a box of free Rockin Green samples, plus business cards, Nutcases soapnuts and modern cloth nappy literature.
I also brought along the three nappies that will be up for sale at WAHM Delights: the brown giraffe twin ecoBumba nappy set and the brightly coloured Blue Sunset Waves ecoBumba nappy. Only managed a side view though.
There was a good response to the nappies, particularly the cute little giraffe.
The market started at 1pm, with mainly tourists and day-trippers browsing the market stalls. At about 6pm the day cooled off, and the crowds descended, in preparation for the fireworks show at 8.30pm. I think there were more people visiting the stall in the last 3 hours than the first 4-5 hours, no thanks to the heat.
I had a better view this year of the Fireworks compared to the Australia Day markets I did in the past two years. No trees or neighbouring stalls to block the view!

Thank you to all who came past, especially previous clients (you know who you are
). It was also great to meet several like-minded clothie mums who knew modern cloth, I’m looking forward to meeting up with you again soon.
Thanks also goes to my 10+ friends who rocked up after the fireworks ended, and helped me to pack up in record time.
Stay tuned for an ex-demo nappy sale by random.org comments on this blog!
