How to Purchase – my WAHM Delights items

For Bean Sprout Bubba items, you need to write “SOLD” as a comment under the product photo. This helps speed up the payment and postage process as the shopping cart handles all transactions and collects your personal details.

How to Purchase – other WAHM Delights market items (as outlined by Vivi@Alexis Taylor)

To purchase a product you need to write “SOLD” as a comment underneath that product photo. To speed up the payment and postage of your items you may also like to leave your email address as a comment for the business owner to contact you. We do understand though that for privacy reasons purchasers may not feel comfortable doing this, in which case you will need to contact the business via the email they provide.

While you are welcome to purchase as many items as you like, please be aware that postage cannot be combined for products purchased from different WAHMs. This is because we come from all over Australia and will be organising postage separately.

Stay tuned for another market update for WAHM Market FB market night (31 Jan 2012)!

Dinosaurus!

I had this super cute dinosaur fabric hoarded for about a year now, and finally whipped something up from it in early December. Paired with brown minky, the effect is too cute.

Dino Cotton Panel ecoBumba nappyI’ve never done cotton panel nappies before. Using cotton on the outside of a brown minky nappy made me nervous (flashback to customers finding leaks when I did cotton outer nappies when I first started!), but the effect is cute enough that I would consider making more.

Front of Dino Cotton Panel ecoBumba nappyI find I need time and practice to get into the groove of making something new. I’m never comfortable with asking for money for a new technique I simply picked up in 1-2 hours, unless it turned out perfect! ;)

As it were, I had some practice runs with another different nappy cut (to be revealed in due time), before making up this dino nappy. This nappy was almost perfect, but for the fact that the dinos were blind! Now I know what to do next time.

See why I called this the 'Blind Dino' nappy? :)

Sorry about the camera angle, the panel looks like it’s sewn on crooked but I can assure you it was straight in real life! :)

After hanging on to it for a few weeks, debating whether to keep this one or make another for my Little C-boy, the nappy was claimed by its new owner in Perth.

Unplanned nappy sewing break

It’s been a while since I last posted. To think that one of my New Year’s Resolutions for the year was to blog at least once a week!

NY resolution FAIL!

I took an unplanned hiatus from actively managing Bean Sprout Bubba over the last few months since January. The last event I actively prepared for was the City of Bunbury Australia Day Fireworks Extravaganza Markets at the Bunbury foreshore.
Since then the store has been on maintenance mode with no active sewing (I packed and sent orders and met a few local clients), even through the March 2011 Nappy Hunt, due to a couple of ongoing ‘projects’ and a bout of sinusitis in early March.

Abi started Kindy this year, we’re homeschooling so it took nearly a whole term to get the hang of things.
I spent numerous nights researching homeschool subject options and now I’m more certain of the direction we’re heading with school, all set for the next 2-3 years up to Year 1 for Abi and even for Bri! I sure hope the time spent pre-planning for the girls’ education will be paid off in the next few months and years so that I can concentrate on Bean Sprout Bubba.

Little Calvin has grown a LOT as well in the past 3 months. From an extremely sleepy beginning when he was born, he is now a happy, alert, shrieking, active 9kg baby boy at 6 months old.

He loves staring at his left hand all the time

Suffice to say his sudden progress to alertness has taken some adjustment not just for me, but for the girls as well.
They have been very patient with me as we take turns to entertain the happy little guy as the girls and I run around the house doing minimal errands to reasonably keep house.

I have so much to tell you about this year, and would like to introduce a couple of awesome people I have met and clicked with during the last 3 months.
I have plans on hold for new Bubba J and ecoBumba products. I hope I can attain at least 50% of my grand plans this year, and carry out the rest in the year to come.

With that I’ll leave you to it. And I promise to blog a bit more than the past three months!

A couple of ecoBumba customs…

…and a Bubba J custom order too!
All happened to be ordered or completed at the height of our 10-day winter flu saga.

Sewing was therapy during that very trying ‘cabin-fever’ time.

Which bundle would you love to take home?
Sometimes I’m very tempted to keep them all :)

We’re all feeling much better now, thanks for all your sickie and pamper-mummy tips and support on the Bean Sprout Bubba Facebook page.
I’m just now catching up with spring promo deadlines, the End of Financial Year paperwork and other necessary evils of running a fledgling business.

In case you were wondering, I’m happy to take simple custom orders for ecoBumba or Bubba J right up to around early August for mid-September delivery, to give me time to prepare for Little C’s arrival in early October (Baby #3).
The store will still be open for you to choose from the current range, and I will still be sewing but for in stock nappies.

In the mean time, stay as warm and as dry as possible, it’s been a rather cold winter this year.
I’ll be back with more pictures, nappy info, hints and tips, there’s so much to share, so little time!

:) Bec
