Photo shows a Booroi nappy cover and a prefold for use with newborns and very young infants. Specially designed nappies for the unique needs of a newborn, very young infant or a petite baby.

For the product recommendations below, please choose either 'small' or 'newborn' sizes to best fit your newborn.

Two main things to consider:
- Newborns and very young babies seldom sleep through the night and need frequent changes.
- Newborns and young babies have very liquid bowel movements.

Therefore to cover this age range you will need:
- lots of changes of nappies
- a good fitting nappy to prevent poosplosions
- extra nappies that do not have elastic for quicker washing turnaround time (e.g. prefolds or terry flats)

If using prefolds and terry flat nappies, please consider using a snappi (available at Big W) instead of pins.

Also consider using modern cloth nappy covers over your terries or prefolds instead of PVC pilchers found in local departmental stores. Modern nappy covers are more breathable than PVC pilchers, which cause baby's bottom to sweat and rash up more easily due to excessive moisture.

There's no need to soak these traditional nappy items in Napisan or Miltons, if you have a modern washing machine. Which is good for a young bub with skin that is sensitive to napisan and the like.
